You are the righteousness of God in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:21) You are a new creation; a child of the most high God. You have been pulled from darkness into light.
Adam and Eve were transformed when they ate of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. The bible tells us that their eyes were opened (Genesis 3:7). They were able to see that they had options. They could choose to follow God or follow satan. That choice still remains for mankind today.
Jesus provided another way for man’s eyes to be opened. This time they are opened spiritually (Luke 24:30-31) We read where Jesus took the bread broke it and gave it to His disciples to eat and when they ate it their eyes were opened. Their eyes were opened spiritually. In the same way, our eyes are opened spiritually when we become born again. We are redeemed from the curse of sin and are now in right standing with God. Nothing is able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:38-39). Just as when we give birth to a child, that is our child forever by relationship and nothing can change that. Their good or bad behavior does not affect their relationship to us.
We are able to love our children unconditionally: That little baby that cries at night when we are tired, that has dirty diapers, that needs to be fed and burped continuously; none of these things override our unconditional love. If we are capable of this love for our children, how much greater is the Father’s unconditional love for us.
We are also children of the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. What are the children of a king called, princes and princesses. We live in the Kingdom of God. It is an earthly Kingdom that can only be seen when our spiritual eyes are opened. It exists in the middle of a world where many are still spiritually blind. Luke 12:32 “Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom.”
We can pray to the Father using the name of Jesus, in whose righteousness we stand blameless and worthy of all that the Kingdom has to offer.
