John 1:1-2 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made”. John 1:14 “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.”
We read in the book of Genesis how God/The Word spoke the world into existence…”And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light.” So, God spoke all that there is in the world into existence. Since all that exists was created by words, it makes sense that creation will respond to words. We have God living in us in the form of the Holy Spirit. The same God who created everything. This is why our words have creative power.
We can speak negative things into existence, and we can speak positive things into existence. There are many bible scriptures that confirm this: Proverbs 18:21 “The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” Proverbs 10:19 “When words are many, sin is unavoidable, but he who restrains his lips is wise.” The bible is telling us that when we speak a lot without measuring our words, we often speak things that we should not. Why should we be concerned about this? Because words have creative power.
I start my day by saying positive affirmations. I have taught my kids to do the same. I remember a time when it seemed that my life consisted of one step forward, two steps back. I saw this especially in the area of my finances. As soon as I thought I was making a breakthrough, it seemed that something unexpected would come up to take away the extra money that I had. One day I heard a young lady sharing a testimony that sounded a lot like what I had been experiencing. She stated that her life changed when she started saying daily positive affirmations. She also stated that she spoke positive things into the lives of her family.
The correlation between her experiences and my own was undeniable. I started saying positive affirmations every day. I also spoke positively into the lives of my children. I started my positive affirmations with “This day I will receive”. I will then speak all the things I wish to experience that day:
“I have the favor of God, I am coming out of debt, something good is going to happen to me today, God has divine connections coming my way, I will walk in the path that God has ordained for me, I decree health, financial blessings, peace and prosperity into the lives of my children, No good thing will Jesus Christ withhold from me, I will have more than enough, I decree we will have no financial lack and we will never have financial problems again.” These are some of the things I say out loud, listed in no particular order.
If you are not saying positive affirmations every day, I encourage you to get into the habit of doing it. It will change your life.
