Each member of the God Head serves a different purpose. Yet, they are one. This is even more proof that we cannot come to God the Father unless it is through His son Jesus Christ. The three members of the God Head work in tandem with each other. Jesus while He was on earth stated that He was doing what His heavenly Father instructed Him to do. John 8:29 “ And he who sent me is with me. He has not left me alone, for I always do the things that are pleasing to him.”
The only time when there was a separation between the earthly Jesus and the Father God Head was when He took on the sins of the world on the cross. It is sin that has separated mankind from God, so when Jesus took on the sins of the world, He was temporarily separated from God the Father, this is why He cried, Mark 15:34 “Jesus cried out in a loud voice, 'Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani? ' which is translated, 'My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? ' ”. Keep in mind that many of the things that Jesus said and did was so we could be made aware of what was taking place at the time. This is to let us know that sin will cause a separation between God and man and that is exactly what Jesus briefly experienced. I believe that what He suffered during his crucifixion was not as painful as His brief separation from God the Father.
Jesus taught a lot about the Holy Spirit. He called Him the Comforter. John 14:26 (KJV)” But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.” (The words Holy Ghost and Holy Spirit are interchangeable). When we ask Jesus into our lives and into our hearts He enters as the Holy Spirit. The scriptures were written by men who were moved by the Holy Spirit.
II Peter 1:21 NKJV. “for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.” When we have the Holy Spirit living in us, He will help us to understand the scriptures. He will also bring appropriate scriptures to mind as we need them. He is unable to bring scriptures to our remembrance if we have never read them. This is one of the reasons why reading the bible is so important. Today, there are so many versions of the bible that anyone can gain knowledge of what the bible says. When I first became a Christian, I studied the King James Version of the bible. Today, I use the New King James Version. If you are having a problem understanding a passage of scripture, ask the Holy Spirit to reveal it to you. He is your teacher.
Acts 4:12 “ Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” No one else has paid the penalty for our sins. Therefore, if we do not come to Jesus by faith and ask to have our sins forgiven, we will remain separated from God and unsaved. We are incapable of living a sin-free life. We are sinners by nature.
Being saved does not only guarantee us a place in heaven, it also entitles us to all the promises made in the bible regarding the children of God. Promises of our prayers being heard and answered by God. Promises of peace, joy, triumph, victory, wisdom, knowledge, prosperity, an abundant life.
