THE RAPTURE

We're Out Of Here

“We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed.” (1 Corinthians 15:51-52)

The above scripture describes the Rapture. It is the born-again believer’s way out of this world. There are some that say the church will be going through the great tribulation. The bible does not say that. It says that as it was in the days of Noah when they were marrying and giving in marriage so shall also the coming of the Son of Man be. In the days of Noah, there was no indication of the great flood that was to come as it did not begin raining until Noah went into the Ark. Jesus told us what the signs of His soon return would be. Famines, pestilences, earthquakes, wars, rumors of wars (Matthew 24:6-14). All these things are taking place right now. This means that Jesus could be coming back at any time.  

The bible tells us of the wise and foolish virgins. (Matthew 25:1-13). Five were wise and took oil in their lamps. Five were foolish and had no oil. The oil represents the Holy Spirit. We cannot be saved unless we have the Holy Spirit living in us. When the bridegroom came, (Jesus), those with oil in their lamps went in to the wedding. Those without oil were shut out. Jesus said “I do not know you”. We are then admonished to watch, because we do not know the day or hour when Jesus will return.

This is another reason why we know that Jesus has not yet returned. One of the first things that will occur when Jesus returns is the rapture of the church. The bible tells us that there will be many false prophets that go out into the world claiming to be Christ. They will show signs and wonders so that if it were possible they would fool God’s people. Matthew 24: 4-5:  ‘And Jesus answered and said to them’  “Take heed that no one deceives you. 5 For many will come in My name, saying, I am the Christ  and will deceive many.” When we do not read/study the bible we leave ourselves open to deception. Cults are led by people who discourage their followers from reading the bible. They know if their followers read the bible they will see the inconsistences and recognize that they are being misled.

I shared before, about my next-door neighbor’s passing. I have wrestled with it because I prayed and believed that God would heal her. The Lord pointed out to me that she is healed. She just was not healed on this side of heaven. He gave her a new body in heaven. He has ended her suffering which was great and transported her to a much better place.

We are so blessed to have heaven to look forward to. When we see the world going through so many things that can be upsetting and of great concern, we can rest in the knowledge that this world system is not the one we will be spending eternity in. We have a great hope of a better home in heaven where there will be no more suffering and God will wipe all tears away.
