John 14:2-4 In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. 4 And where I go you know, and the way you know.”
Jesus said that He was going to prepare a place for us. Jesus made the heavens and the earth in 6 days. He has been gone roughly 2,000 years. He promised that He would come again to receive us and take us to this place. I am sure this place will exceed anything we can imagine. It will surpass anything that we have ever seen before.
People who have gone to heaven find it difficult to describe the beauty and colors they have seen. They say it exceeds anything they have experienced on earth. They also describe the feeling of peace and unconditional love that they experience.
The best thing about the place Jesus is preparing for us, is the fact that He will be there. He will be the light that shines there. We will finally know what it is like to live in peace and harmony with each other and our surroundings. Love will be the main ingredient that makes this place superior to all others.
Today, we can get a little taste of what living in that place with Jesus is going to be like. As we submit ourselves to the Holy Spirit we are being changed to be more like Jesus. We find the capacity to love and forgive others. The Holy Spirit is not only willing to help us with the big things, He delights to help us with the small things as well. He will help us with the everyday tasks that we perform. He is the best cook, decorator, finder of bargains, maker of wise decisions and more. As we allow Him to lead us, we begin to excel at these things.
Jesus’ return is imminent, let us be ready when that day comes.
