“I once was lost but now I’m found, was blind but now I see.” Amazing Grace saved a wretch like me. When I was a sinner, I was very good at it. In fact, when I came to Jesus there was no doubt in my mind that I needed to be forgiven. I thought that my sins had been so egregious that I could not have a relationship with God. God, in His mercy, sent a total stranger to tell me about His plan of salvation. He knew that I was seeking Him and made a way for me to find out how to be forgiven and have a personal relationship with Him. I may have heard the message of salvation before, but it did not register the way it should have. Having someone speak to me directly and give me the “sinner’s prayer” written down, to say, made all the difference. Sometimes we may think our personal testimony is not all that important, but you may be able to reach someone that others can’t. That’s why it is so important that we be obedient to the leadings of the Holy Spirit, when He tells us to talk with someone.
God says in Jeremiah 29:13 “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart”. While we are seeking after God, He is seeking to reach us and bring us into a personal relationship with Him. Many times, it is when we are going through a time of trials that we reach out to God. It may take coming to the end of our own ability to solve our problems to cause us to reach out to God. The bible says it is hard for a rich person to enter into the Kingdom of God. It is not that riches are a bad thing. It is that people who are rich enjoy so much in the world, that they often do not take the time to look to God for help.
If a billionaire offered to give you all His money to purchase your salvation; given all that you know today, would you sell it? Salvation is priceless. We are here for a short time in comparison to eternity. Who wants to spend eternity separated from God? Eternity is a very long time. If we die unrepentant and separated from God, there is no recourse. The bible says Hebrews 9:27 “ And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:” Does this mean that if you are born-again you have more riches than the richest unsaved billionaire? The answer is YES!
Most of us are familiar with the letters TGIF and what it stands for. I would like to submit another meaning to the letters …Thank God I’m Found. Thank you, Jesus, for paying the ultimate price on the cross to enable us to be saved by grace. Thank you, Lord, for all your many blessings of protection, provision and purpose. Thank you that we have the assurance that once we leave this planet, we are heaven bound to spend eternity in your presence. We praise and worship you today!
