Isaiah 41:10 10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
The bible instructs us to take it one day at a time: Matthew 6:34 “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.” Many times, I have experienced where God does not give me instructions until I need it. I can waste a lot of time wondering what I should do, before I need to take action. However, when the day comes that I need to act, He will give me clarity. When we are anxious, it robs us of our peace. A person living in a shack will enjoy life more, if they have peace, than someone living in a mansion with anxiety.
2 Corinthians 12:9 “And He said to me, My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Paul had what he described as a “thorn in the flesh” a messenger of satan, as he described it. He sought the Lord to be delivered from it and this was the Lord’s response to him. Paul then decided that he would rather be weak so he may be strengthened by Christ. Sometimes when we feel fully capable of handling things, we do not rely on or seek the will of God in a matter. When we feel we are not capable, we will ask for God’s help. By asking for God’s help, we will not only receive His guidance and direction; His strength will rest upon us enabling us to do what needs to be done.
I have developed the habit of asking for God’s help even when I feel that I am able to do something. I have found that when I enlist His help, I do it better. We should never feel that we are “bothering” God with our requests. God delights to help us. This is why He sent the Holy Spirit, to be our Helper. When we enlist the help of the Holy Spirit we function at a much higher level. I try to pray for the Lord’s help before I cook every meal. I could tell myself, “I know how to do this, I got this God.” However, so many times, I have found myself changing what I thought I was going to do, to something that makes it better.
Jesus is a great cook. Remember when He cooked fish for the disciples? Believe me, that was some of the best tasting fish they had ever eaten (John 21:9-12).
How blessed we are to have the Holy Spirit. In this time when there seems to be so many challenges and pitfalls, we have someone who knows everything living inside us to lead and guide us. It is up to us to listen to Him. Once we pray and ask the Lord for guidance, it is God’s responsibility to make His will known to us. He will not force us to follow His leading. We have to come to God with an open heart and mind. We can hear from Him amid all the noise. The noise created by our own thoughts and the input from the world. He speaks in a still small voice. He gently corrects us letting us know this way and not that one.
We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us (Philippians 4:13).
· I always type satan in lower case…I refuse to give him respect.
