Rules of Engagement
2 Corinthians 10:4 (NKJV) “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds,”
Ephesians 6:12 1” For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”
We cannot fight spiritual battles with the flesh. We have to use spiritual weapons. What type of spiritual weaponry do we have? We have the armor of God:
Ephesians 6:13-17 “Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.”
The Bible tells us that in the end times perilous times will come. Today, we can see darkness increasing. Light is what dispels darkness. Darkness is full of hate, it is spearheaded by the devil who comes to steal, kill and destroy. He wants to steal your faith, steal your voice, steal your courage. If you read the end of the book…the Bible, you will see that as a born-again Believer you are on the winning side. Satan walks as a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. However, he has no teeth. Jesus removed all his teeth when he came back from the dead and defeated him. All he has is noise. He may send someone to attack you verbally. You will recognize his m.o. the speech will be full of hate, disrespect, lies (he is the father of lies). Do not let people who attack you without cause get to you. See them for who they are, tools of satan. Pray for them that they may be saved and have their eyes opened.
As children of God, we are called to live on a much higher spiritual level. We have to live by the Bible and set aside the ways of the flesh. I can go head-to-head with anyone who comes after me. However, it is more important to me that I respond in the manner that the Holy Spirit wants me to. As a result, I try not to be reactionary. When I become angry, it is necessary for me to take a step back and allow the Holy Spirit to give me His perspective. Sometimes He will tell me to respond; sometimes He will tell me not to. Don’t forget as born-again Believers, God says “vengeance is mine, I will repay.” I have seen Him do exactly that when I have held my peace. People who attack born-again Believers are ignorant of who is backing them. We have God the creator and sustainer of the universe on our side. We have His power fighting on our side. So, let us be bold in proclaiming our faith as we fight darkness in these end times.
