GOD SAID DO IT
Why do I have challenges?
Many times, we think that if God tells us to do something it is just going to be smooth sailing in accomplishing His will. However, I have learned that in many cases, there are obstacles in the way.
For instance, when God told me to purchase a house. I felt the mortgage broker must have forgotten that she had a commission coming to her, because she made the process so difficult. I sent her an email at one point and reminded her that their commercials said that getting a mortgage from them was like (I am paraphrasing) spending a relaxing day doing something we enjoy. Apparently, the vice-president saw my email, and he reached out to me. This was the vice-president of a large well known mortgage company. (a name you would probably recognize). He instructed me to deal only with him in completing the loan. From there on, it was a lot easier to move things along. I know that God had him reach out to me. You see, even though there may be obstacles, if we persevere, He will help us to overcome them.
Most recently, my son had to have a windshield replaced in his vehicle. After several failed attempts by the company’s installation team, we were 40 days into the process. He had been instructed to take his vehicle to the BMW dealership to assess the problem with the windshield camera. It was determined that the installer had broken the camera. The dealership was very accommodating with the installation company and agreed to match the wholesale price they said they could get the replacement camera for. However, the installer did not want to pay the dealership for the labor. They wanted him to take the vehicle back to their shop.
At this point, I felt the Lord clearly telling me to work with my son to get the windshield camera installed and calibrated by the dealership. We both knew we had to go over the heads of the installation company’s management. We posted his experience with the BBB and reached out to the Insurance Company who had referred us to the installers, to get them to approve that the work be done by the dealership. I could feel in my spirit when the ok was given. A couple of days later the dealership was contacted by the Installation company and the ok was given to the dealership to complete the work.
Those are just two examples where there were obstacles to God’s will that had to be dealt with through perseverance, prayer and being led by the Holy Spirit. I think of the Children of Israel. God told them about the promise land. He said He was going to give it to them, but they were required to fight to take it. Likewise, we are sometimes required to fight to acquire what God has promised us.
