Sometimes it takes a focused effort to be thankful. We tend to focus on our problems more than we focus on the things that are going smoothly and are a blessing. Having a thankful heart causes us to enjoy life more. I am sure you can think of many things to be thankful for today…do you have a roof over your head, do you have food to eat, are you in your right mind, do you have friends and family who treat you with love, do you have money, do you have a vision and a goal for your life?
Hope is something to be thankful for. As long as we have hope for the future, we are able to press on. I can look back over my life and see all the things God has brought me through. Being a single parent has not always been easy. Being married has also not been easy 😊Remembering all the things God has brought me through, helps me to have faith in His ability to bring me through any, and all, of today’s challenges. I can remember when He made a way when there seemed to be no way. I can remember the times when He protected me from harm when I had put myself in a vulnerable place to experience it. God still shuts the mouths of lions today. He prepares a table before me in the presence of my enemies.
A friend once sent me a song entitled “I am sipping from my saucer because my cup has overflowed” 😊 That is how I feel today. God has been better to me than I deserve. Even when I did wrong, He has been able to make some good come out of it. Sometimes it was a learning experience. Sometimes He used it to propel me in a better direction. I cannot praise God enough for all His benefits towards me. The main reason why I do this blog is to tell of His goodness. To encourage others to taste and see that the Lord is good. To tell those who know Him that He will not fail you. Even the hairs of your head are numbered (Luke12:7). If He takes care of the sparrows, how much more will He take care of us.
Take the time today, to praise God for all that He has done for you. It will help to strengthen you for the journey ahead.
