James 4:2 (KJV) “Ye have not because ye ask not”…
This scripture comes to mind very often. I have to remind myself not to just wish and hope but to pray. I have found that wishing and hoping is not as effective as praying 😊 Over the years, I have witnessed the granting of many of my prayers. Some of them required a miracle. It is not possible to just say one cover prayer for all of our life’s circumstances. To pray something along the lines of …”God, please bless my life and let it be all that you want it to be as long as I live”. God, wants us to be specific in our prayers so that when He answers them, we will know and give Him credit and praise for answering. It also helps to strengthen our faith for we know that if He answered this prayer, He will also answer our future prayers.
My children and I never leave the house without praying for certain things. We pray for protection on the road, wisdom in all that we do, and favor with all we meet. I have experienced God’s supernatural favor many times. The most recent, when we went to a store and the cashier said that because we had been so patient, she was going to give us $10 off our total bill, with a discount coupon. She also patted me on the shoulder and said, “have a nice day pretty lady”. This may not have been unusual except for the fact that I was wearing a mask and dark glasses 😊
Many times, as soon as I walk into a store, a store clerk will approach me and ask if they can help me with anything. Often singling me out from the crowd. On one occasion, a lady walked over to me complimented me on my blouse and asked if she could hug me. (This was prior to Covid so I did not mind😊)
My daughter has a job in sales, and we pray for favor with the people she speaks with every day. One gentleman called her back and told her that God told him to purchase from her. When she told me about it, she also mentioned that he was Muslim. I mulled it over a while then realized that we don’t have to be born-again for God to talk to us, God can speak to anyone He wants to speak to.
On one other occasion, she was having a slow day. Her workday is until 5:30 pm and it was close to 3:00 pm and she only had 2 sales. I prayed and said, “Lord please help her to have 6 Sales today, if she gets 6 sales, I will know that it is you who did it and will give you all the praise”. In my mind, I knew I was asking for something that could not occur unless God intervened. Just before 5:30 pm she had 4 sales. Then 2 more people reached out to her to purchase. She had a total of 6 sales for the day. Hallelujah! What a mighty God we serve. He says ask and you shall receive. God likes to do what seems impossible so we can give Him the credit.
Don’t ever go to a job interview without praying for favor. God will help you to stand out from the crowd. Sometimes when God’s favor is in operation people behave in a manner that does not seem “normal”. Pray for favor and expect it, God will answer your prayers.
