Matthew 5:11 Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for my sake. 12 Rejoice and be exceedingly glad for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
Wow! I am supposed to rejoice and be exceedingly glad when people say things against me “falsely” for Christ’s sake. Being exceedingly glad is not usually the first reaction to negative push back. It is something we have to learn. Sometimes we are afraid to share our faith with someone because we are concerned that we may be rejected. Jesus did not call us to put our light under a bushel (Matthew 5:15) He said we should let our light so shine before men that they may see our good works and glorify our Father in heaven.
It is impossible to please everyone. We can try our best to walk uprightly and show love to the world and someone will find something to accuse us of. Even if it is just to say that we are a phony. However, our aim should always be to please God. He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him, and walk as the Holy Spirit leads.
Remember, no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17)
