In the beginning when God made man, he was able to talk with God. He was able to walk with God. When Adam and Eve ate of the forbidden fruit. The fruit that gave them the knowledge of good and evil, I believe that it changed their DNA. They experienced a loss of innocence.
Satan had rebelled against God as well as a portion of the angels who followed him. This spirit of rebellion was transferred to man when he ate of the forbidden fruit. Adam and Eve’s eyes were opened to not only good but evil as well. Evil is rebellion against God. It is doing the things that God does not approve of. However, this spirit of rebellion became a part of man’s DNA. The bible tells us that all we like sheep have gone astray (Isaiah 53:6).
The only person who lived a life without sin, without evil and rebellion against God the Father, is Jesus. Jesus not born of a human father did not receive the corrupted DNA of man. He was not born a sinner, alienated from God. He was linked to God, the Father, through His deity.
God had to make a new creation. Man becomes this new creation when we admit that we are sinners; accept that Jesus died for our sins, and invite him into our lives, into our hearts. He enters in the form of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is who transforms us into a new creation. 2 Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.”
When we are born again, we are reconciled to God. We receive a new identity in Christ. This is the reason that we cannot lose our salvation. Our salvation is not based on good works; it is based on our relationship to God. We become the true children of God. We are no longer estranged from Him. The partition between God and man is removed.
This is also why the bible says there is no other name given under heaven whereby we MUST be saved (Acts 4:12). Having found the key to life and being born-again, let us not take our salvation for granted. For there is nothing of more value to mankind.
